Today I share my experience with the TP-Link Smart Wi-Fi Plug / Outlet.
Installation Is Simple
You have to install a “Kasa” app, and from there you just follow a few prompts, type in your wi-fi password and you are smooth sailing. From there go back to the Alexa app and have her discover the new items and you can now control your plug.
What I Use It For
I have a standard lamp attached to it. so basically it's a glorified clapper. I also used it for my Christmas Tree and lights in the windows. It was nice to ask Alexa to “turn on the tree” and my tree and lights in the windows would light up.
Now that Christmas is over, I have it set to turn on a space heater. My dining room is freezing, so when I'm upstairs where its warm, and I'm going to be downstairs for a while I can now turn on a space heater so its not quite so cold by the time I get there.
If you go on vacation, or have other times when you are away. you can setup a routine for the smart plug. There are a few ways to do this, and it gives you lots of flexibility.
